La pointe de la Torche
La pointe de la Torche is a place known for the practice of board sports and for its preserved nature. A place not to be missed to discover and why not admire the sunset.
The Pointe de la Torche is a natural peninsula located south-east of the Bay of Audierne. This rocky spur offers a superb view of the Bay of Audierne with a 360 degree panorama.
Water sports:
The Torch is a nationally and internationally recognized spot for water sports. Numerous national and international sports competitions have been held there: funboard world cup, surfing championship, etc.
Beyond the competitions, many board sports enthusiasts meet there every day.
The wilderness
La Torche is also a place to observe the wild nature of the seaside and its birds. In the summer, the point is home to the only colony of bee-eaters in Brittany.
Tulip fields
Close to the beaches, between March and April you will be able to observe tulip fields as far as the eye can see, a festival of colours that will allow you to take unforgettable snapshots.
The Story
During prehistoric times the Torch was a very popular place and many remains have been discovered there. To discover this history, you can go to the Prehistory Museum located not far from the point. There you can observe an extraordinary collection of objects from the Palaeolithic to the Middle Ages.
